Join Media
Merge multiple video or audio files without quality loss
Description
OS | Compatibility |
---|---|
macOS | No |
iOS 15 or higher | Yes |
iOS 14 | Yes |
Select multiple video or audio files, and BOOM you have a combined file. Quality remains the same because they are not re-encoded. Name and date will be inherited from the first one.
When selecting files from Photos, the order of selection will be applied. When selecting files from Files, the order will be sorted by file names.
This shortcut requires the free a-Shell mini app: https://apps.apple.com/app/id1543537943. a-Shell also works if you are on iOS 15.

Great tool! Please add the option to merge video files from iCloud Drive using the multiple selection in the Files App and the share menu.

Thanks! Unfortunately choosing from Photos seems to be the only way to retain the selection order of multiple items. All other methods, choosing from Files or sharing from Photos or Files, result in some random order...

That is not an issue at all! Just sort the elements alphabetically. The user just need to rename them as: namefile 0001.mp4, namefile 0002.mp4, namefile 0003.mp4, etc. before selecting them and merge them with your tool. Optionally you can sort by using the number at the end of the base name, so the user can preserve the original file name and just add "- 0001", "- 0002", "- 0003", etc. at the end of it. Many audiobooks have already the files named that way: chapter 01.mp3, chapter 02.mp3..
