Copy Values Only Google Sheets
Paste values only
Description
Amazingly enough, the iOS versions of Google Sheets have never allowed you to paste the values of cells only instead of the formulas.
This is incredibly painful, so I fixed it.
Instructions
- Copy any cell(s) in a Google Sheet.
- Run this shortcut.
- Paste in any Google Sheet (or wherever you like, really).
No third party Updater Shortcut required.
This shortcut has an integrated update mechanism called Embed-a-Update. Thanks to the embedded updater, it does not require any external updater shortcut. The shortcut checks for updates itself, so you'll never miss an update and it is super fast.
If this Shortcut doesn’t work as expected, you have suggestions, or an idea to improve it, let me know!

It’s true. Thank you so much, you save me a ton of time. Can you please make a Format Painter shorcut ?

hehe I don't think that is really possible in a shortcut. Sorry.

Is it possible to make a shortcut that copy everything but except value?

I have my values rounded down to zero decimal places for display purposes. However, I would like to have at least two decimal places used for calculations, and it appears that the calculations are being performed with only the display numbers. Is this something that could be corrected?

I cannot download the shortcut onto my IPAD 2. When I attempt it, I’m told to download an Apple product called “shortcuts” and then from there I’m told your app isn’t supported so I can’t download it. Help! I also tried cutting and pasting into a new sheet, but that did not work either. Like you, I’m totally annoyed that I cannot paste values from my iPad.

Check the compatibility with your iPad of Shortcuts.

What version of iOS are you using?

Ok, I was finally able to install it, after giving permission for untrusted apps (which I assume includes apps Apple didn’t create). Now I don’t know how to use it. Sorry, I’m new at this. Thank you.

No worries. Here's how this works:
1. Normally apple are very protective of what apps you can install. They all go through a vetting process to get into the app store to protect from malicious apps.
2. Shortcuts are sort of mini apps that do things on your behalf. The more powerful Apple makes Shortcuts, the more chance there is someone could do something nasty....

...So, Apple blocks certain things outright making Shortcuts a little less powerful. Other features Shortcuts or iOS will ask you to grant permission. If a shortcut asks for location but you don't understand why, say no. Maybe there is something malicious going on. But you can always see what a shortcut is doing by opening it up. You can also edit a shortcut you download if it isn't exactly what you want...

So the message you got was part of Apple warning you generically that when you download a shortcut *could be* malicious in nature and you should be careful. You will get this message on any shortcut you import.

Thank you! What I don’t understand is how to use the shortcut. I’m on Google Sheets and I copy a cell I want to paste the value of, and then what? I tried going to the shortcut app after copying the cell I wanted to paste value but there was no indication of what to do. Am I supposed to paste the copied cell into the app somewhere?

1. Go to the Google Sheets app and select some cells. 2. Go to the Sharing menu (the little box with the up arrow) and find this shortcut and tap on it. 3. now you can paste the values of the cells in any other document or email.

@ccaref
Thank you for answering all of my questions. There is no little box with an up arrow. Maybe my IPad is too old.
