Like you, I got tired of having to launch the Shortcuts app to send an AutoMessage when a reminder became past due. With this shortcut, your scheduled auto messages can be sent from the widgets screen or Apple Watch! iOS 14’s new “back tap” feature can even bring up the menu in an app, saving you several annoying swipes.

Hey! I love this. I am using it on my iPhone and watch. So far I have been unsuccessful at sending WhatsApp messages though. Is it possible to send WhatsApp messages using this shortcut?
Edit: Also, every time I give the shortcut access to my files it crashes (it still sends the message though!)

Wish granted. Whatsapp support now live. (The code was already there, but I temporally remove to the menu option because WhatsApp was not up-to-date on the Shortcuts support) as for crashing when you give the shortcut access to your files, I suspect that’s more of a Shortcuts bag rather than a problem with the shortcut I coded. I’ll see if I can find what you’re seeing.

Understood and it’s not really a priority! I should have specified, it only crashes when it’s trying to access files on the watch.

I’ll have to try it out 😁 I’ve noticed that the watch cannot send messages via WhatsApp because there is no app for it. Do you know if there is a way to send messages through 3rd party apps like WatchChat or maybe even somehow access WhatsApp on the phone via the watch?

Haha. No idea, and I don’t have as much time for shortcut development as I used to, so I wouldn’t know how to dive into learning about it.
