13.13 1 year ago
iOS 15
⚠︎ THIS SHORTCUT REQUIRES iOS 15, watchOS 8 or macOS Monterey.

What's new in Release 13.1:
→ Interacting with Bus Arrivals through Siri is now more natural. For example, Siri no longer reads long strings of numbers as “xx thousand x hundred..."
→ Removed &A (using too many actions)
→ &P now directly loads the bus arrival information for that stop. Enter '0' to load the options menu.
→ Bug fixes

What’s new in Release 13:
→ The shortcut now caches bus stop information so the nearby bus stop finder is much quicker
→ New &g setting to disable caching; &f still disables any file saving
→ The shortcut now returns to the main bus stop selection menu after you dismiss the bus arrival information sheet.
→ New updater does not tell you about what’s new in the next release every time you run the shortcut.

About the new privacy prompts: The new Privacy prompts in iOS 15/watchOS 8/macOS Monterey do not actually reflect the data that is being sent or saved or accessed. Instead it shows the original information the shortcut has processed from. So the shortcut will claim to be sending off data its not actually sending off simply because the data is derived from your location, for example.
(tl;dr the shortcut isn’t in fact shipping out your location contrary to what the prompt says)

Also on iOS there’s a bug which prevents you from choosing the folder when configuring the shortcut; the shortcut will still run if its blank but will get all the files off the internet every time. You can go into the editor and fill out that blank if you want.

In the OSes new privacy prompts trigger every time new information is passed down, so when you’re running it from a new place it’ll ask for permission and it can get very irritating. &f or &g seems to solve the problem.

! THIS UPDATE WILL BREAK THE SHORTCUT ON APPLE WATCH
What's new in Release 11:
→ The shortcut can now find bus stops for you based on your location, instead of asking you to enter the bus stop code or giving you a preset list of bus stops
→ The shortcut now stores bus stop information files onto your iCloud so it is faster, uses less mobile data and less spammy for the servers. The files are still periodically updated by the shortcut. It takes about 3MB.
→ Update checks are now periodic and so you can enjoy automatic updates without it lagging out each time you run the shortcut.
→ Added the ability to permanently stop update checks.
→ Added integration with Apple Maps. Share to the shortcut a location to search for nearby bus stops and get bus arrival information.
→ Added notes and travel tips for select bus stops.
→ Removed smart route destination prompts, you can only choose between having the route destination shown all the time or none of the time. The smart prompts were too slow.
Please see the Bus arrivals user guide for more information.
